So application of sorafenib in veterinary medicine, particularly for cats with liver cancer, is limited and not well-documented. While some studies have explored sorafenib’s use in dogs with HCC, indicating potential benefits in disease control with an acceptable safety profile, there is a lack of comprehensive research on its efficacy and safety so to best be approached with caution, and consultation with a veterinary oncologist

In humans, dogs, and mice it seems safe but I haven’t seen any studies for its use in cats.

But the vet felt it was too late to try
& save him so he was put to sleep.
Do you think we should have gone
ahead w chemo & kept trying? The breathing
was labored but it may have been the stress from
being in the clinic?
I’m beginning my o wonder if there really was hope?
